About Us

Message to corner workers
Thanks to all of you for volunteering to work turns at the NW Alfa Club's Pacific Raceway track event. I know some of you said maybe, so if something has come up and you can't make it please let me know. If you know someone who might be interested in working a track event pass the word along and have them get in touch with me.

Please arrive at the track no later than 7:15 AM and let them know at the gate that you are working turns. We will have a turnworkers' meeting at 7:45 AM where the trackmaster will go over race flags, radio operation, track safety, logistics, etc. How much we stand around will depend on how promptly everyone assembles. Please attend the morning meeting even if you are only working the afternoon session. That way everyone can get the same instructions at the same time. We provide lunch for all turn workers. If you are working a morning session we will pick up your lunch for you so you don't have to wait in line. We will shut down for lunch at noon, bring the morning turn workers in, then right after lunch set up again for the afternoon. Full schedule for the day is as follows:

7:00 AM Gates Open
7:45 AM Turnworkers' Meeting
8:15 AM Drivers' Meeting
8:30 AM Morning turnworkers transported to stations
9:00 AM Cars on Track
11:30 AM Lunch station opens up
NOON Track Closes and morning turnworkers picked up Lunch
12:45 PM Afternoon turnworkers transported to stations
1:00 PM Cars on Track
5:00 PM Track closes and afternoon turnworkers picked up.

As a thank you the NW Alfa Club will give you credit towards a future event either a day at Bremerton or a half price day at a Pacific Raceways. You must have prior track experience to run with us at Pacific Raceways, which you can get at a Bremerton event. If you are eligible for Pacific Raceways, you can work in the morning and drive in the afternoon, or vice versa.

What to wear -- Be prepared for anything. As a minimum wear loose comfortable clothing, preferably NOT synthetic and NOT red. Be ready for rain or sun. For sun a long sleeved cotton shirt and long pants will save your hide by the end of the day; and I wouldn't want to be without a hat and sunglasses and a small cooler with water or your favorite Non-alcoholic beverage. We run rain-or-shine so don't forget your rain gear and in any weather you'll want a jacket or sweater for the morning. If you want to catch a ride for some hot laps your clothing requirement will be the same as for drivers: Non-synthetic clothing that extends to ankles, wrists and neck. Denim jeans and cotton long sleeved shirt are considered minimum. Driving suits are recommended. Non-perforated leather gloves or nomex racing gloves are required as well as shatter-proof eye protection. A helmet with a Snell 90 rating or newer is required for drivers and passengers. If you have a helmet that qualifies bring it as it will fit properly. Otherwise, if possible, we will help you locate one for you to borrow.

Where to show up -- Follow the signs until you find line of people signing the track waiver. Sign in, tell them you're here to work turns and ask them where to find the registration tent. I will have my cell phone with me. If at the last minute you cannot participate, please call me.

Once again thanks. Your participation is vital to the success of this event and is greatly appreciated.
